Symptoms:
Report on media contents of a library that show number of blank tapes, list of media with used and unused space on tapes and a total of used and unused media on the library on tape that are not blank.
1. Open reports management window.
2. Right click and select Edit/view report called Library contents this brings up report job editor.
3. Double click "libraries Media contents spec lib" under component. This brings up report component editor
4. Double click "library name" under field. This brings up edit filter expression.
5. Select "check field value," also select "prompt for value." You will see - library name (string) in the left hand pane. In the right hand pain, put in the value "*" and select ok.
6. This takes you back to report component editor. Select the output options tab, then select output total record.
7. Modify the component title to be: 'Libraries' Media Contents spec lib.' Then select the "File" dropdown menu to save the job
8. Modify the job title to be "Library Contents spec lib" and select file, save
9. In the main report window you should see a report called "Library Contents spec lib", double click the report and it will prompt you for library name. Delete the * and enter the library name in full including the netvault server name if it appears in the library name of device manager. This means if you have a smart client and the smart client name appear in the title of the library you will need to include this as well.
10. This will output a report on all media contained in the library specified.
