Plug-in for SQL Server restore using 'Copy Database Files to Target Directory' to alternate machine, fails with VSS errors -
Description
When attempting to restore SQL server databases using "Copy Database Files to Target Directory" method, the job fails with the following errors:
Failed to prepare VSS components for restore, error VSS_E_WRITERERROR_NONRETRYABLECheck if the database state was correct -
Cause
This issue is being investigated under bug DNPSS-1031 -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
Contact Support for access to special build Plug-in for SQL Server 12.2.0.5.
This is not yet yet available on our websites and can only be used to restore using the "Restore Database File to Target Directory" method.
Do not use this build to backup and restore SQL databases in production.
STATUS:
This issue should be resolved in upcoming Plug-in for SQL Server version 12.2.
