The installer for NetVault Server Pure64 includes a screen with the option to choose between Standard and Managed Service Provider setup type. Which option should be selected?
Standard type is designed to utilize NetVault Server in standalone mode to manage the backup needs of a single organization.
Managed Service Provider (MSP) enables the usage of NetVault Server to provide backup as a service to multiple clients organizations (tenant). It offers on demand backup service through an intuitive interface. NetVault provides multi-tenant environment, which provides an easy management of multiple clients (tenants) on the same instance, where, tenants register with the MSP to protect and manage their data. In this environment, the MSP performs all required NetVault Server tasks and the tenants and tenant users can view only the data pertaining to respective organization and its groups. Tenants can also perform required backup tasks for their associated clients. The user roles ensure that users have access to only the information that they are authorized to see.
NetVault Web User Interface (WebUI) for these installation types changes slightly to accommodate the tools required for each logged user. Please refers to the User Guide of each installation mode regarding these features in details.
