While performing restore of oracle database to alternate server using CLI the restore hangs and restore job wont start
If the password for the NetVault Backup default user has been set or a non-default NetVault Backup user is used to run the backup and restore, you must run the nvpluginaccess utility on the NetVault Backup Server. You must then obtain the necessary security clearance for the plug-in to perform CLI backups and restores.
On Linuxand UNIX, the “util” directory is in “…/netvault/util”
On Windows, the “util” directory is in “…\NetVault\util”
where “…” represents the path to the NetVault Backup Server installation directory.
nvpluginaccess -remove -client
nvpluginaccess -client -account
where is the name of the NetVault Backup Client machine on which the plug-in is installed and is the NetVault Backup user who performs the backups and restores.
Example:
nvpluginaccess -client DB_Server -account default
A confirmation message appears stating that access has been granted for the specified NetVault Backup Client.
On Linux and UNIX, the “config” directory is in “…/netvault/config”
On Windows, the “config” directory is in “…\NetVault\config”
where “…” represents the path to the NetVault Backup Server installation directory.
The following entry in the “hookplugs.cfg” file corresponds to the preceding example.

Hookplugs.cfg is mandate to update for communication from server to client
Note: If we want to do restore from older date , (ie not from the last 7 days ) then best is to use the CLI to restore
