A series of backups have been saved to SmartDisk with a short expiry time, then copied to tape with a longer backup life.
Once the SmartDisk copies expired, the savesets are still shown under NVBU 10.0.1 > Explore Storage > Disk Storage > SmartDisk, when only the tape copy should be visible.
Removing the savesets from the Web UI or via nvexpiresaveset appears to complete successfully but the savesets are still shown and there is no way to remove them.
Under NVBU 10.0.1 the following Bugs led to the symptoms described:
Bug 27701: Prevented the removal of retired RAS segments and indexes from online disk-based devices if the batch request included items from offline or removed devices.
The above issues have been fixed in NetVault Backup 11.
Under NV11 you can now use the nvmeddbcheck command with the -f switch to force retired ras segments and indices removal from the database.
- Perform a NVDB backup
- Stop NetVault whenever possible
- In command line, navigate to the netvault/util folder
- Run this command:
nvmeddbcheck Compact -f -v
