Backup or duplicate job runs and to the first tape and when the first tape is full it sends a media request for a second tape to complete the duplication. The job sit waiting for media, when a diagnose is done on the job the drives report “Wrong block size” as seen below.

Problem with media reserve BUG 27313
1) make note of library cleaning slot and remove cleaning tape from slot if there.
2) make note of Drive Block Size (128 on your update), Transfer Buffer Size (131073) on your update
3) take screenshot as previously provided of each drive so we have record of drive order and can confirm the drive have been added in correct order when we read the library.
4) remove library from NetVault
5) stop NetVault serveries
6) edit file …\NetVault Backup\devices\drives\scsi-tape.tp
Find media reserve as below:

Label = Amount of media reserved at end of tape (MB)
Type = Range
Range = 10,8192
Value = 25
Width = 6
Notice the Range value is 10,8192. This means the maximum media reserve is 8GB. To be able to increase it, i.e. to 30GB modify the range
Range = 10,30720
Save the changes.
7) Restart the NetVault Service.
8) Re-add the library and drives like before including cleaning slot before loading cleaning tape into library.

9) Open command line and cd to …/NetVault/bin directory.
Issue the following command this should allow us access to the config of the drives.
deviceconfig.exe -servername "simon_virtual_machine" -httpsport 8443 -username default –password xxxxxx -drivemachine BACKUP -drivepath "4-0.0.0 (HP Ultrium 5-SCSI)"
(this command should bring up following menu for drive “4-0.0.0 (HP Ultrium 5-SCSI)")

The go back into the drive the same way and verify the changes have been saved.
Then do the same for all drives in the library
