This article is for NetVault 9.2, 10.0 and 10.01
Only able to stream 8 jobs to the DD Boost RAS device by default.
NetVault Backup by default only allows 8 streams of data for the DD Boost device. The total for the NetVault Backup software is based on the fact that the %netvault%\config\ foreignras.cfg file has the number of Streams set to 8 during the creating of the initial RAS container.
NOTE: When changing the number of streams, existing LSU on the DD Boost will not be updated with the stream count change, therefore it will be necessary to create new LSU on the DD Boost while adding the device.
To increase the number of streams (maximum value = 32).
Leave the existing LSU as it is for now
Verify that there are no jobs running, then stop the NetVault backup service
Edit the %netvault%\config\ foreignras.cfg
Change the number of Streams from a value of “8” to “32”
foreignras.cfg file
[Performance:SoftStreamLimit]
Value = 32
Start the NetVault Backup service
Create new RAS Container (s), they will now have 32 Streams since the configuration files was changed.
The jobs that were targeting the old RAS LSU have to be modified to start writing to the new RAS LSU that just created.
Once the data on the old LSU have expired, delete the old RAS LSU by removing the device in NetVault and then deleting it on the Boost device itself.
Note : Future version of NetVault will allow existing RAS devices to have stream limit modified via the WEBUI
