The above errors occurred on NVBU 9.0.1 installation with NDMP 7.1.15 and an NDMP 8.1.1 Patch installed. The NetApp Filer had OnTap 8.1.2 7-Mode installed.
As you can see from the NAS and NDMP Compatibility Guide on the following link under the Documentation tab, that the NDMP Plugin and Patch are not supported to work with the NVBU 9.0.1 version:
https://support.quest.com/NetVault Backup
Please perform the following steps to resolve the issue:
1] Remove the NDMP Client after capturing a screenshot of the configuration (Right click on the NDMP Client in the Backup window and select Remove Server).
2] Uninstall the NDMP Plugin and any NDMP Patch (NetVault Console > Client Management > Right click the NetVault Server and select Remove Software > Highlight the NDMP Plugin > Click on Remove. Use the same steps for any NDMP Patch installed).
3] Restarted the NetVault Services (NetVault Configurator > Services tab).
4] Install the NDMP 7.6.11 Plugin and 8.1.2 Patch (NetVault Console > Client Management > Right click the NetVault Server and select Install Software > Go to where the NDMP Plugin was saved and uncompressed > Click on OK. Use the same steps for any NDMP Patch as well).
5] Kill off any lingering NDMP Sessions by running the following command as root on the Filer: ndmpd killall
6] Add the NDMP Client(s) as per the screenshot(s) made earlier.
7] If you have a tape library attached to a Filer i.e. NDMP attached robotic library, then remove and re-add the tape library in NetVault Device Management with the same configuration and name as before. The reason being is that a new NDMP channel has to be created.
