Description
When attempting to add tape devices on Windows Server 2019 via NetVault Backup WebUI, the device fails to be added.The following error is logged:

----------------------------------------------------------------------NetVault Backup can add tape devices using Windows driver before Windows Server 2019 but fails to add tape devices by SCSI inquiry command error on Windows Server 2019.
On the windows device manager, it will show as unknown medium changer

Cause
Limitation of Windows Server 2019. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND1
Proceed to install tape device driver for hardware vendor. Please contact the hardware vendor for tape device driver.
WORKAROUND2
If it is not possible to get the tape device driver, please contact Support to obtain a fix to circumvent the error for Windows 2019. The fix uses an enumerated hierarchy address to open the scsi port and supply the pass-through with this address instead of the usual hierarchical addressing scheme of Scsi Port ID, Bus ID, Target ID and Logical Unit ID (LUN).
RESOLUTION
Waiting for a fix in a future release of NetVault Backup.
