Symptoms:
SmartDisk fails and analysis results in the message 'An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file' being located in the chunkstore trace..


Cause:
This is an issue with a pointer overflowing a 2G boundary.

A patch for SmartDisk 1.2 is available from BakBone and will be included in a future release. Consult the release notes for Jira 'NSD-106'.


Explanation:
A pointer has overflowed and resulted in a negative number. When an attempt is made to read the file at that location, it is reported that a negative location is before the beginning of the file.
