If the file-system/disk where the Smartdisk Staging volumne is hosted is filling up , is it possible to copy the Staging volume including data to another
location?
this is not possible as the path to the Staging volume is hardwritten into the each Segment Index making up the Backup.
However it is possible to add a new volume for future Staging writes so that over time the Backps/Segments in the existing Staging location will expire.
-Add the path of the new Staging area volume to the Smartdisk config using the following command:
sd_install_location>/foundation/bin/smartdisk.sh --volume --add --volume <path_of_new_volume> --favour Staging --deny Storage --deny "Chunk Index" --deny "Disk Index"
Then you set the existing Staging volume <sd_install_location>/<existing_Staging_vol> to 'deny' for future Staging so that no further data will be written to it. (This will not prevent reads of
backup segments on the volume for restores/duplications).
<sd_install_location>/foundation/bin/smartdisk.sh --volume --update <sd_install_location>/<existing_Staging_vol> --deny Staging
Existing savesets on <sd_install_location>/<existing_Staging_vol> will now gradually disappear as they are set to expire and new backups write to the newly added Staging volume.
