How to configure NV smart disk to use a specific network address for NVBU backups (4042540)

Symptoms:

If the machine hosting NVSD has multiple network interfaces and you wish it to perform backups using a specific network interface.

You can use --preferredaddress to define the primary IP address that NVBU Clients should use when communicating with the NVSD Device.

Use the following command:

…\foundation\bin\smartdisk.bat config --update --webdav --preferred-address


For example, to use the default NVSD port (37453) with the desired address 10.44.100.22 will require the following command to be entered:


…\foundation\bin\smartdisk.bat config --update --webdav 37453 --preferred-address 10.44.100.22

To verify the change in configuration use this command:


…\foundation\bin\smartdisk.bat config --show

and the [interface: data] section within the output slould look like the example below:


[Interface:Data]
Block Size = 32, KB
Port = 37453
Preferred Contact Address = 10.44.100.22
Type = WebDAV
