This issue has been identified as Bug 26524, which prevents deduplication from starting due to a report of an incorrect Volume Activity Count after backup jobs failed or were aborted. The error was reported as “Activity Limit Exceeded” for the Volume Cap.
STATUS
Bug 26524 is fixed in SmartDisk 10.0.0. In the meantime, please consider the following:
WORKAROUND:
- Restart SmartDisk to reset the volume activity counters
- If restarting SmartDisk is not possible increase the relevant volume dedupe-cap value to allow deduplication to start.
