Based on NetVault SmartDisk 2.0 Administrator's Guide > Monitoring Performance > Viewing NVSD Statistics > Reviewing the List of NVSD Statistics (available at https://support.quest.com/technical-documents/book/1008?article=DOC60280), you are able to monitor the license by looking at the following parameters of the NVSD statistics available at:
http://<NVSD_Instance_Hostname>:<Backup_Software_Client_Port>/proc/stats.stnz
Space.Staging.Status = <CurrentStatus> - Status of NVSD Staging Store; includes Available, Full, Unlicensed, and License Exceeded.
Enter the following URL in a Browser and refer to the mentioned parameters:
http://<NVSD_Instance_Hostname>:<Backup_Software_Client_Port>/proc/stats.stnz
For example:
http://10.1.0.0:37453/proc/stats.stnz
SmartDisk’s default port number is 37453
