As seen below NVDBU is backing up the backup indexes and then fails with “Database Media Manager has dropped connection”

When running “nvmeddbcheck force” command from the CLI the checker crashes with “nvmeddbcheck.exe has stopped working.
See URL below how to run “nvmeddbcheck force” command
Database index file corruption
1/ check the file that was being backed up at the time in this instance the file was
\Bakbone Software\Netvault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Files\Backup\0002\13\d5
2/ stop NetVault
3/ browse to the directory where the backup failed in this case
\Bakbone Software\Netvault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Files\Backup\0002\13
Move the file
\Bakbone Software\Netvault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Files\Backup\0002\13\d5
And the following file
\Bakbone Software\Netvault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Files\Backup\0002\13\d6
Outside of NetVault installation and run the checker does the checker mow complete.
4/ if it does put back the files one at a time and run the checker until the checker fails. This will tell us which file caused the failure.
5/ now we have identified the problem index, this index needs to be removed from this directory permanently and the other index put back as before, then run the checker again.
6/ start NetVault and run NetVault database backup.
7/ if this completes without error the database is repaired. There will be a backup with index missing in the restore window. This can be seen as the backup will have a red cross through it. To restore the backup do a media list of the backup, make sure the tape is available and select load index and the index will be reloaded from the tape.
8/ this may be a sigh that the database need cleaning up below is a procedure for doing this.
NetVault database clean up:
1/ Make a note of the library name and tape name/barcode the last NVDBU by checking the logs.
2. Stop NetVault Services
3. Navigate to ...\NetVault\db and move MediaDatabase folder to another location. Make sure that if you move the database to a different location on the same disk that you have enough space. You can compress or 'zip' the folder if necessary.
4. Restart NetVault and a new MediaDatabase will be created.
5. Re-Add the library in NetVault device manager and scan the tape with the NVDB backup on it. You can avoid re-adding the devices manually if you replace the new Device Tree files with the previous MediaDatabase that you have just moved in step 3. Replace the new "MediaDatabase\Indexes\DeviceTree" and the "MediaDatabase\Records\DeviceTree" with the old ones.
Make sure the DeviceTree from the Indexes goes to new Indexes folder and the one from the Records goes to the new Records folder.
6. At the end of the scan open the restore window, select NVDB, open the NVDB backup you just created, select "Backup Indexes" and "Media manager" only and restore them.
7. NetVault services will stop when the restore completes. It may restart on its own If not restart from NetVault configurator.
8/ check restore window to verify that the restore has worked as expected.
9/ monitor for a few days to verify all is ok with the media database then delete the copy of the media database made in step 3 to give you the disk space back.
