We were unable to roll back a server due to an invalid target profile. A new target profile had been created on the server after it was cutover. Once the invalid profile was removed we reattempted the rollback and it failed with the same error We found that after deleting the invalid profile the registry keys still remained and we were unable to remove them due to This issue can be caused if you attempt to delete a registry key that contains embedded null characters. These characters aren't visible when viewing the registry entry. See link for more information: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/performance/error-while-deleting-key
We rebooted the server and after logging in, we found that we were no longer able to access the start menu
This is not a typical symptom of a domain cutover with ADPro however after further research we found that the issue is a common symptom of running a Windows Update or a corrupted user account. Both are factors in this server migration. My recommendation was to create a new local user account and log in with the new account. This should restore the start menu. In the meantime, I have advised that the user profiles be backed to a temp folder on the C drive.
Utilize the "Profile Failure Action" option within Device ReACL Profile and set it to "Warning" or "Info".
Test, and confirm this is working as expected.
