Azure Server Cutover | Cannot validate argument on parameter 'ComputerName'. The argument is null or empty.
Description

During Azure Server Cutover, the following errors are reported in the agent logs:

Cannot validate argument on parameter 'ComputerName'. The argument is null or empty. Provide an argument that is not null or empty, and then try command again.

Property SearchList does not exist at path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

Property UseDomainNameDevolution does not exist at path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

Cause

Azure deployed Windows Server machine was provisioned without both registry keys, "SearchList" and "UseDomainNameDevolution".
Resolution

Add the two keys using registry editor:

1) Open registry editor in windows.

2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters.

3) Create a new String Value, with the name "SearchList" without ".

4) Create a new DWORD, with the name "UseDomainNameDevolution" without ", and update the value to 1.

5) Reboot the server.
