Link Finalisation Fails after Update URL has been completed -
Description
When using NMSP you can use the Update URL feature to modify the URL's of any links of items that have been migrated to SharePoint.
After applying the Update URL on all your links you attempt to finalise however no links are finalised. The preview will indicate that documents will be finalised however finalisation will fail.

Cause
When using the Update URL feature the links must be finalised BEFORE the URL is updated using this method. If this is not done then the ItemLinkURL and RedirectorURL inside the link tracking database will not match and the links will not be finalised. -
Resolution
To resolve this issue you must perform the following procedure
- Create a backup of your link tracking database from SQL Management Studio
- Open the attached SQL Query UpdateLinkRedirectorURL.sql
- Modify the @Pattern on line 4 to be your original target SharePoint site
- Modify the @ReplaceBy on line 5 to be your new target SharePoint site.
- both of these stings need to be only the part of the URL that will change
- Run the query
- It will modify the RedirectorURL's in the dbo.linkage table to reflect the correct target site
- Verify on the dbo.linkage table that the record_status field is set to "migrated" and not "Finalized.
- From the NMSP console analyse the links again
- Attempt to finalise the links again
