Yes, with MNE, Rooms, Resources and Mail-in databases are migrated just like any other user:
1.) Create a collectionWhen migrating resource mailboxes to Exchange, Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MNE) will take into consideration that there are different types of resource mailboxes. These are Room, Equipment, and Shared Mailboxes.
We still require a security object in AD for MNE to be able to mailbox enable.
If no contact (representing the Notes resource) is present in Active Directory, then the following process can be used during the Provison wizard:
Once the provision process has been run successfully to create a mail enabled security object, the mailbox-enabling process can be run from within MNE. Depending on the type of resource in Notes, when the object is mailbox enabled, MNE will create a resource that matches the Notes resource type.
By design, the following translations take place:
Notes Room - Exchange Room
Notes Resource (Equipment) - Exchange Equipment
Notes Online Meeting - Exchange Shared Mailbox
During the Export Notes Directory process, MNE captures the type of Notes resource, and this information is subsequently used when mailbox enabling a resource mailbox in Exchange.
If there is a contact in Active Directory, representing the Notes resource, but no security object, then the process in the following KB article can be used to mailbox-enable the contact:
