Undoing the migration for some users doesn't work and nothing is recorded in the log file.
What can cause this behavior?
Users have been created in target by directory synchronization, following best practices. Then a final migration was performed to disable source accounts and to enable target accounts while moving to the appropriate OU in target domain, also following best practices. However, the need arose to undo the migration and for some users this has not been successful.
It is not possible to undo a migration for an already switched user. If a user's mailbox has been already switched then Migration Manager will ignore this user and will not process the object.
When analyzing the DSA log file please look for the following entry:
(&(objectCategory=aelita-Amm-ObjectPair)(aelita-Amm-ResMemberOf=)(!(aelita-Amm-Switched=TRUE)))
If user has been switched and the switch status is being set to be TRUE then the LDAP search will not find the user, it will exclude such users from search, and undo will not work. This is by design and was implemented to avoid human mistakes in a situation when a user has been migrated and switched and then (by accident) undone therefore affecting production. Migration Manager prevents an undo of the migration for such users.
