Cause
The service account is not using the correct format

Resolution
In this case if the account is not on the correct format the system will throw that error.
If the service account "TestO365@lab.onmicrosoft.com" the error occur if you have a lowercase " t and o", where office 365/azure expect uppercase "T and O" in the username.
