Microsoft has issued a zero day exchange vulnerability. https://msrc-blog.microsoft.com/2021/03/02/multiple-security-updates-released-for-exchange-server/
We are in the middle of a migration from Exchange 2016 CU15 to office365 using Quest Migration Manager for Exchange 8.15 with Update 20201221EX installed. Is it safe to update to Exchange 2016 CU19 and install the zero day security update from Microsoft in the middle of our migration?
Quest MMEX Product Team has tested MMEX 8.15 latest Hotfix migration functionality after Exchange 2016 was upgraded to CU19 version with the latest Microsoft update and did not observe any adverse effects. This was also confirmed in the field in production environments as well.
Having said that, there's always a possibility that things may go wrong, due to the infinite amount of variables in different environments. So the sound backup/restore strategy is a key factor to restore a product functionality, while Quest is working on the solution.
Please note that only the latest 8.15 version/Hotfix was tested and it may require to upgrade the older MMEX version and/or apply the latest Hotfix prior to pursue any troubleshooting steps with Exchange 2016 CU19.
