The Mail Source Agent (MSA) hangs after switching one, two or possible more mailboxes. The MSA log (emwmsa.log) contains the following:

The MSA is stopped and restarted and the MSA will switch a few more mailboxes before it hangs again.
This issue is related to the target Global Catalog (GC) not functioning properly or the GC is having network communications issues.
Redirect the MSA to use a different target GC when performing the switch do the following:
1. Start Quest Migration Manager console
2. Stop the Mail Source Agents on the problem server(s).
3. Close all the Quest Migration Manager console instances.
4. On every problem server with Mail Source Agent, you have to create an entry in the registry containing DNS name of the domain that holds the mailboxes, as follows:
a. Create the registry key Preferred in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Tools\CurrentVersion\Components\MBRedirector\
b. Under the Preferred key create a key containing the domain DNS name, for example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Tools\CurrentVersion\Components\MBRedirector\Preferred\target_domain.com
c. Under the created domain DNS name key create two string values:
GC - must contain the IP address or hostname of the preferred Global Catalog
DC - must contain the IP address or hostname of the preferred Domain Controller

5. Verify that on the problem Exchange server the version of \Program Files\Common Files\Aelita Shared\Migration Tools\mbredir.dll is 2.0.82.10 or above.
6. Start Quest Migration Manager.
7. Start all the Mail Source Agents
Extended logging for the Mailbox Redirector can be enabled if additional information on the switch is need.
Set the registry key InfoLevel to 0x100 (default is 0x10).
