Due to various factors (eg. QCS has been used prior to migration) target uses might have multiple x500 values, some of them will be conflicting with newly created legacyExchangeDN values. This can happen because by default the DSA doesn’t run a check and doesn’t verify the uniqueness of the newly created legacyExchangeDN attribute.
How can this be avoided?
In addition to regular conflict resolution rules used by Directory Synchronization Agent (DSA) during object synchronization, the following rules may be applied if necessary:
· A new value of a legacyExchangeDN attribute generated by DSA in the target domain should be checked for uniqueness between target legacyExchangeDN attributes and x500 addresses within proxyAddresses attributes. If a conflict occurs, a number will be added to the end of the legacyExchangeDN attribute value or the number will be incremented automatically if it already exists.
· A value of a source legacyExchangeDN attribute which is migrated to a target X500 address within a proxyAddresses attribute should be checked for uniqueness between target x500 addresses within proxyAddresses attributes. If a conflict occurs, an error message will be shown in the console and processing of the corresponding object will be interrupted.
· A value of a source x500 address which is migrated to a target x500 address within a proxyAddresses attribute should be checked for uniqueness between target x500 addresses within proxyAddresses attributes. If a conflict occurs, a non-critical error message will be shown in the console, but that x500 address will be migrated to target. If a value of a source x500 address conflicts with the legacyExchangeDN attribute value of any target object, an error message will be shown in the console and the processing of the corresponding object will be interrupted.
To turn the functionality on, add the following key to the registry (if it does not exist) with the ResolveLEDNx500Conflicts=1 registry value of the String type:
· 32-bit operating system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Tools\CurrentVersion\Components\MBRedirector
· 64-bit operating system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Aelita\Migration Tools\CurrentVersion\Components\MBRedirector
