"The machine you are logging onto is protected by an authentication firewall" (4331630)

RUM discovery returns the following error:

Warning: Log path \\server_name\QuestResourceUpdatingLogs$\ is not accessible. Error 0x8007078F. Logon Failure: The machine you are logging onto is protected by an authentication firewall. The specified account is not allowed to authenticate to the machine.

An external trust is in place between the source and target domain, and was setup to use "Selective Authentication". Selective authentication over external trusts restricts access to only those users in a trusted domain who have been explicitly given authentication permissions to the computer object(s) in Active Directory in the trusting domain.

To explicitly grant access to the RUM controller computer object in the trusting domain's Active Directory:

1. Open Active Directory Users & Computers
2. Enable Advanced Features
3. Browse to the computer object and select Properties | Security
4. Add the User/Group and assign "Allowed to Authenticate" permission
