In certain scenarios, QMM may synchronize proxyaddresses for objects whose objectclass is not included in scope. For example:
1. Users are synchronizing from the source to the target
2. Groups are synchronizing from the target to the source. The "User" objectclass is unchecked under "Specify Target Scope->Set Filter".
However, proxyaddresses are still being synchronized for user object from the target domain to the source domain.
This is due to the fact that the MBredir component, which is responsible for synchronizing mail attributes, is sent the objectGUID of all objects during synchronization. It does not filter these objectGUIDs based on the objectclass filter in the GUI.
This behavior is by design. One possible workaround is to use the "MailSkipList" parameters in ADAM and skip all proxyaddresses on the source. For more information, see the link below:
