"The remote procedure call failed and did not execute" error when performing a Discovery using Resource Updating Manager (RUM) -
Description
When performing a Discovery task with RUM, the Discovery fails with the following error:
"The remote procedure call failed and did not execute."
All permissions are present, and the appropriate service account can connect to the machine's admin$ share.
Portqry fails when accessing Ports 135 through 139
Local firewalls are turned off, or rules are in place

Cause
A firewall or network device is blocking access to the required ports. -
Resolution
Depending on the Network / firewall device, whitelist the RUM Console Server communications to the machines, or open required ports.
