When Attempting to move a computer to the new domain using RUM (Resource Updating Manager), the following error appears in the log "MoveComputer 5 Error Access is denied. Cannot open the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ComputerName\ActiveComputerName. (Computer_Name, RegOpenKeyEx)."
-The "Administrator" permissions to the workstation are correctly setup,
-While logged on to the workstation with the service account credentials, the registry keys are accessible,
-While logged into the RUM console as the service account, the registry is only partially accessible
The security setting "Network access: Remotely accessible registry paths and subpaths" is configured either through group policy or on the particular workstation.
Please modify security settings directly on the affected workstation if it was configured manually or see the following Microsoft article on how to configure it via GPO policy:
