QMM console Repair option uninstalled the Directory Synchronization Agent.
If the Directory Synchronization Agent is installed on the QMM console server, a console Repair operation using the QMM CD or the downloaded ZIP package (Quest Migration Manager and its components link in Autorun), will uninstall the DSA.
This has been confirmed as a defect and CR 65139 has been created to fix the issue in future releases.
1. Run QMM Repair operations from the Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs [Programs and Features], or launch directly using the MSI. This issue will only occur when the Repair operation is launched from the QMM CD or product ZIP package when using AutoRun.
2. To fix installations that have had the DSA removed by the Repair operations, follow the steps outlined below:
i. Rename the %Program Files%\Quest Software\Migration Manager\DSA folder on the QMM Console.
ii. Remove registry entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Manager\DSA and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Manager\CurrentVersion\Agents. Important: backup the registry before making any changes.
iii. Install a new DSA using the QMM CD, and configure the correct ADAM information when prompted during the installation.
iv. Copy the UndoStorage folder from the renamed DSA folder.
IMPORTANT: Quest does not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. The Windows registry contains information critical to your computer and applications. Make sure you back up the registry before modifying it.
