How exactly is SIDHistory cleaned from target accounts when run?
Does ADPW remove all SIDs found in the SIDHistory Attribute regardless of origin, ADAM project database or other?
N/A
ADPW will clear only the SIDHistory values for any, and all, source users found that were migrated DIRECTLY to target users. If the migration of a user account was performed in a "Daisy Chain" or in “Series” then ONLY the last source account SIDHistory value is removed. Lastly, if any other SIDHistory values are present from outside sources or previous migrations from another ADAM project they will remain after running ADPW.
Example 1:
Multiple source accounts are migrated / merged into the same target account in separate “parallel” domain pairings.
i.e. The target user account receives two separate SIDHistory values from source1 and source2 user accounts.
Domain Pairings: (Note: these pairs are “Parallel” or directly sent to target)
Source1 Domain --> Target Domain (source1 user is migrated or merged into target user account)
Source 2 Domain --> Target Domain (source2 user is migrated or merged into same target account)
ADPW is run against target domain and removes SIDHistory values of both source users accounts from the target account.
Example 2:
Multiple source account SIDHistories are migrated / merged into the same target account but though “series” domain pairings.
The target user account receives two separate SIDHistory values from source1 and source2 user accounts still and the ADAM project reflects this.
Domain Pairings: (Note: these pairs are in “Series”, meaning only one user account is migrated directly to target)
Source1 Domain --> Source2 Domain (source1 user is migrated or merged into Source2 user account)
Source 2 Domain --> Target Domain (source2 user is migrated or merged into target account)
ADPW is run against target domain and removes only the SIDHistory value of the source user migrated directly to target user. The source1 user SIDhistory will remain on the target user account
