If during the processing of workstations you choose not to check the box for removing the agent after update then vmover.exe and several other files will remain on the workstation. These can be left on the workstation with no harm or removed following the procedure below.
There are several methods of removing vmover from the workstations after processing is complete. When using the Distributed Resource Updating to process the workstations there is a checkbox on the very bottom of the resources selection screen for "remove agents after update". If your processing was performed with this box checked there is no need to perform any further steps as the process, after complete, will remove the agent.
If you did not have this checkbox selected you can remove the agents via the console by simply selecting the computers you wish to remove the agents from and choosing actions\uninstall agents. This will force the console to connect to each computer removing the agents.
The third method would require a batch file be created and placed in the user's logon scripts that would delete the following files in the \windows\system32 or \winnt\system32 directory:
vmover.exe
vmover.ini
fixprof.exe
vmover.txt
There is also a vmoverdata folder within the system32 directory that should be deleted as well. You should also kill the service "quest resource updating agent". You can use the sc.exe utility from Microsoft to perform this.
