Cause
This may be due to a SharePoint Cumulative Update not being able to rescind all of the registry keys it created.

Resolution
- A recent Cumulative Update for SharePoint appears to be leaving some registry keys that should be deleted once the patch is completed.
- These orphaned keys have been identified to be preventing StoragePoint (along with other 3rd party products) from being upgraded.
Below are the steps on how to remove those registry keys that should be deleted: Once removed, solution deployments should then complete.
1. Open Registry Editor and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\\Secure, where can be any of the following:SharePoint 2010: 14.0SharePoint 2013: 15.0SharePoint 2016: 16.02. Check the following keys:ExclusiveUpgradeModeExclusiveUpgradeFailedExclusiveUpgradeSessionId3. If any or all of the keys exist, export the Secure key (folder) so that you have a backup, then delete any or all of the 3 keys that exist.4. Repeat steps 1-3 on all servers.5. Restart the SharePoint Timer Service on all servers.If StoragePoint still fails to be upgraded successfully, it may be due to items that failed to retract from when the failure originally occurred. In this case, perform the following:
1. Manually retract both the bluethread.storagepoint.feature.wsp and metalogixproducts.wsp solutions.2. Check the web.config file of the Central Administration application for the presence of Bluethread assembly references such as:
add assembly="Bluethread.SharePoint.StoragePoint.Adapters.HcapRest, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=141fe4b547d7494f" /
add assembly="Bluethread.SharePoint.StoragePoint.Adapters.EMCIsilon, Version=2.0.0.0m Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToekn=141fe4b547d7494f" /
3. If the references exist after a retraction, comment them out or back up the web.config file and remove them altogether.4. Attempt to upgrade StoragePoint again.
