Cause
Virtual Directory Paths are almost always related to issues with the pathing on IIS. It is necessary to assess if paths are mapped correctly. -
Resolution
To resolve this error, it is necessary to check the Roles and Features and make sure that IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility is enabled. This can be found here:
Once this feature is enabled, the error should go away, and pathing on IIS should work without any problem.
NOTE: Enabling additional Server Features might require a restart, so if your environment requires it, downtime will need to be planned.
