When migrating to OneDrive, "Checking for users personal sites" fails with error: User not found
Mostly, this happens when the account(s) in SharePoint Online is using an alias.
Re-map the users accordingly (it is recommended to use the .onmicrosoft email), using the Essentials mapping wizard and this will display the SharePoint user found:
