Resolution
You can upgrade to Messagestats (QMS) 6.0 from versions 5.0.1 and later versions.
Before you can launch and use QMS, you must obtain a new license key. Without a license key, you cannot launch or use QMS. Ensure that you have the license key before you begin an installation or upgrade. You need to contact your sale rep for new license key. Also it is recommended you install QMS 6.0 in your lab for evaluation purposes.
QMS 6.0.0 does not support a direct upgrade. You must uninstall any previous version of MessageStats and install version 6.0.0. MessageStats does, however, migrate all database content from a 5.x MessageStats Database to the new MessageStats Database.
If you have all QMS components installed on one machine then just uninstall them first and uninstall 6.0 components.
If you have a distributed installation then you need to upgrade the QMS database first. After you upgrade it, you can upgrade remaining components.
If a database upgrade and migration is not successful, QMS automatically rolls back to the previous version of the database. You should note that the Quest MessageStats database and the Quest MessageStats product must be the same version to work properly.
