Can MessageStats be configured to audit Internet domains using wildcard characters like *.com, *.uk, *.pl, etc?
MessageStats currently does support the request to audit Namespaces like *.com or *.uk. To do so, simply enter com or uk in Domain Auditing.
In MessageStats, the tracking log processor is simply doing a text comparison of the text of a given domain name. So if Microsoft.com is entered, MessageStats would return domains like Microsoft.com and newsletters.microsoft.com.
MessageStats checks the domain name to see that the entered value has a period or @ before the value to ensure that the domains returned are actually the same domain and may simply include a sub domain.
Therefore, if you enter com in the Domain Audit definitions, you are telling MessageStats to audit the com domain and all sub domains, essentially *.com
