When configuring Outlook Web Access (OWA) Reports, against a Windows 2008 server the user may receive Access Denied message when attempting to configure the IIS logs.
Navigating to the logs location from the Messagestats server is possible with no permissions issues. The user is Local Admin on the MessageStats machine and all Exchange servers as per the documentation.
Windows 2008 does not turn on all components by default and some components need to be installed or turned on.
Installing IIS 6 WMI Compatibility component on Windows Server 2008 boxes will resolve the issue.
1. Open Server Manager | Roles
Ensure IIS 6 WMI Compatability component is installed

2. If Windows Firewall is turned on, ensure Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI-In) is enabled.
Under Server Manager | Configuration | Windows Firewall | Inbound Rules
