During Install or Upgrade you receive the error: "The System was unable to add Members to the MessageStats Admin Group".

Cause
The reason you're getting this message is because you are attempting to install or upgrade the MessageStats database which the SQL server is part of a cluster or the service account is not a local administrator on the SQL Server.

Resolution
1. If you are getting this error during a clean install or upgrade you will need to create or upgrade the MessageStats database manually first using the Database creation or Migration Scripts.
2. After you have the MessageStats database manually created / upgraded, run the MessageStats installer, choose custom install, and unselect the database portion and proceed with the install or upgrade -

To find the appropriate Database creation or migration scripts and the solution for the version of MessageStats you're installing or upgrading, search for the word "clustered" in the MessageStats Knowledgebase. Select the Solution that suites your needs. E.g "How to manually upgrade to version <##> database on both clustered and non-clustered SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 Servers.
