For Exchange 2003 you will have to enable these settings on all of your Front End\OWA servers you are going to collect data from.
For Exchange 2007 and later you will have to enable these settings on your all of your CAS role servers you are going to collect data from. We currently only support logs that are created Daily, Weekly or Monthly.

If Exchange is installed on a Windows 2003 server do the following.
- Launch Internet Information Services snap in.
- Right click on the Default Website (typically this is where the OWA website is installed) and select Properties.
- On the Web Site tab under the Enable Logging section click on Properties.
- Click on the Advanced tab.
- The following Extended logging options need to be selected.
- Date
- Time
- Client IP Address ( c-ip )
- User Name ( cs-username )
- Method ( cs-method )
- URI Stem ( cs-uri-stem )
- URI Query (cs-uri-query)
- Protocol Status ( sc-status )
- User Agent ( cs(User-Agent) )
- Bytes Sent (sc-bytes)
- Bytes Received (cs-bytes)
- Time Taken (time-taken)
- Cookie ( cs(Cookie) )
- Referer ( cs(Referer) )

If Exchange is installed on a Windows 2008 or later server do the following.
- Launch Internet Information Services snap in.
- Expand 'Servername' | Sites and click on the Default Website (typically this is where the OWA website is installed).
- In the middle pane double click the Logging icon.
- Under the 'Log File' section click on 'Select Fields'
- The following 'W3C Logging Fields' need to be selected.
- Date
- Time
- Client IP Address ( c-ip )
- User Name ( cs-username )
- Method ( cs-method )
- URI Stem ( cs-uri-stem )
- URI Query (cs-uri-query)
- Protocol Status ( sc-status )
- User Agent ( cs(User-Agent) )
- Bytes Sent (sc-bytes)
- Bytes Received (cs-bytes)
- Time Taken (time-taken)
- Cookie ( cs(Cookie) )
- Referer ( cs(Referer) )
Part B.

Create the IIS Log Files/OWA/Windows Mobile gathering.
Note: If the Windows Mobile Report Pack is also installed, only the Windows Mobile Default Gathering needs to be run to collect both OWA and Active-Sync data. - Expand the Exchange Organizations node
- Right-click your Organization name and select Create Task.
- Enter a unique name to identify the task, select IIS Log Files/OWA/Windows Mobile as the task template, and click Next.
- Select Most Recent as the date range to indicate the last number of days from which to gather log files and click Next.
Note: For the initial gathering task, it is recommended you schedule the task to run on a weekend if you have a large number of Windows Mobile devices and users.
- In some situations, you can choose the Custom option if you want to select a specific date range to indicate the time frame from which to gather log files.
- Review or change the default task execution server and click Next.
- Specify a schedule for the gathering task and click Next. MessageStats provides two types of schedules: schedules that run once (at specific times such as
- December 31 or Now), and schedules that repeat for a defined period (such as daily, weekly, or monthly)..
- Verify the logging level for the task logs, and click Next.
- Review or change the account under which the gathering task is to run, and click Next.
- Click Finish to save the gathering task.
