How to Generate a custom report showing mail activity by Organizational Unit (4240946)

Can MessageStats generate a report that will display the mail activity based on an Active Directory OU, or Container, so that the traffic of various business units could be compaired?

It is possible to build a custom report that will display the message traffic based on one or more organizational units.

1. Open the MessageStats Reports website.
2. On the Web Reports Toolbar Click on File and select custom report.
3. Click Next on the Web report Wizard "Welcome" Page
4. On the Data source page select "Mailboxes - Mailbox Activity Totals"
5. On the Fields page add the following fields: "Container/Organizational Unit", "Display Name", "Messages Received", "Volume Received (KB)", "Messages Sent", "Volume Sent (KB)", "Total Messages", "Total Volume (KB)".
6. on the Filter Page choose "Container/Organizational Unit", "IS IN", Click the elipses button and ctrl + click to select the OU's you wish to display in the report"
7. On the Group Page add the "Container/Organizational Unit" field to the Grouped fields.
8. On the Filter page click next
9. On the Format page click "Advanced Summary Calculations"
10. Check the box directly below the word "Total"
11. If you do not want to see detail broken out by each mailbox (totals only) uncheck the "show detailed records" box.
12. Click OK to close the "Advanced Summary Calculations -- Webpage Dialog"
13. Click Next
14. Enter a Description for your report (Description Text displays below the report title, but above the report body).
15. Click Finish to display the report if you want to save the settings click File | Save As and give the new report a name (The report name displays as the title for the report).
