Using LiteSpeed for SQL Server to restore differential backups on databases with full-text catalog failed with the following error
Msg 62301, Level 19, State 1, Line 0
SQL Server has returned a failure message to {PRODUCTNAME.EN} which has prevented the operation from succeeding.
The following message is not a {PRODUCTNAME.EN} message. Please refer to SQL Server books online or Microsoft technical support for a solution:
A system assertion check has failed. Check the SQL Server error log for details. Typically, an assertion failure is caused by a software bug or data corruption. To check for database corruption, consider running DBCC CHECKDB. If you agreed to send dumps to Microsoft during setup, a mini dump will be sent to Microsoft. An update might be available from Microsoft in the latest Service Pack or in a QFE from Technical Support.

This server was upgraded from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005. The SQL Server also performs a memory dump and this happens every time when a differential backup is being restored. Backup files has been successfully verified using xp_restore_verifyonly stored procedure and full backup and transaction log restores completes successfully. Extracting the native backup files from the LiteSpeed backup file (using extractor.exe) and then restoring the native backup files causes the same assertion check error. The error does not occur natively (restore a native full and differential backup).
