Instance configuration does not retain the Listener name for an Always On Group and instead uses a node name. -
Description
In Instance Configuration, Central Repository configuration resolves listener to physical node. This causes reporting to fail when the Central Repository is on a different physical node. In Instance Configuration, Central Repository config will not save fully qualified version of listener or physical node. This causes all reporting to fail when on a different domain without DNS suffix lookups. -
Cause
Steps to Reproduce:1.Setup a central repository as an always on group on a cluster with a listener.2. Run instance configuration and use the listener as the "central repository".3. Run Instance configuration.4. Review the SLS installer log and note that the listener name is not used and is replaced by the name of the node currently hosting the primary database.Actual Results: Instance configuration does not retain the "listener" name for an always on group and instead uses a node name.Expected Results: Instance configuration should use the Listener as the "central repository". -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:Contact Support to acquire a patch for LiteSpeed 8.2STATUS:Issue fixed in version 8.2.1.The latest version of LiteSpeed for SQL Server can be downloaded here:https://support.quest.com/litespeed-for-sql-server -
