Error "... Update Native Backup statistics fail" - SQL Server 2012 -
Description
For SQL 2012 installations running the sql agent job " LiteSpeed for SQL Server Update Native Backup statistics fail", the Native backup information is not updated to the Central Database. It is only written to the local LiteSpeed database. -
Cause
In SQL versions before SQL Server 2012 the "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" account was automatically sysadmin on
the server, but from SQL Server 2012, the account no longer has any permissions by default.
When executing the extended stored procedure " xp_replicate_activity_statistics", the connection to SQL Server
and the LiteSpeedLocal database, is made by the "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM".This throws an error in the event application log.

Resolution
Granting db_owner permissions to the "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" account in the LiteSpeedLocal database,
will solve the problem. Not only for the native backup history, but also for the LiteSpeed backup history.
Granting permissions to the "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" account in the LiteSpeedLocal database is a prerequisite for using central repository together with SQL Server 2012
