Creating a Maintenance Task in Litespeed in Quest Enterprise Console with a Schedule of 3rd Sunday in the Month fails to correctly create the SQL Agent job with the same settings. Instead the SQL Agent job is created with 1st Sunday in Month.
Steps to repeat problem.
In Maintenance Plans
Create a new Maintenance Plan
Name it 'test 1'
select pubs database.
On Tasks tab. Select New Optimization Task
Tick re-organize data and indexes.
In the Schedule tab.
Select recurring, select monthly, select The, then select 3rd Sunday of every 1 month.
Change the Daily Frequent to 10:00
Click OK
Now edit the Maintenance Plan, on the Tasks, Schedule, Occurs tab.
This will incorrectly show 1st Sunday of Every 1 Month, not the 3rd.
Click Cancel.
In SQL Server Enterprise Manager, On the Management, SQL Server Agent, Jobs branch, Find the job Optimizations Job for DB Maintenance Plan 'test 1'
Right click, select properties, Select the Schedule Tab, the schedule here too is set to 1st Sunday of every 1 month, not the 3rd Sunday.
WORKAROUND:
There have been a number of changes made to the Maintenance plan areas of Litespeed which have fixed the issue in version 4.6.0.00293. Performing the exact same steps in this version results in the Maintenance Plan scheduling correctly.
STATUS:
Issue fixed in version 4.6.0.00293. The latest version of LiteSpeed for SQL Server can be downloaded at: http://support.quest.com/support_download/Downloads.asp
