After upgrading a server with a LiteSpeedLocal that updates to a LiteSpeedCentral on another server, the error message displays: The version of LiteSpeedCentral(5.***) on server **** is greater than the version of this release of LiteSpeed for SQL Server(5.x)
LiteSpeedLocalserver has a different version of the LiteSpeed Activity Service than the LiteSpeedCentral server
WORKAROUND 1:
If you have a LiteSpeed 5.1.1 central repository that needs to communicate with a repository for a previous version ofLiteSpeed, you must upgrade the statistic agent that transfers information between them on the outdated server instance. To do this, run the Remote Deploy Configuration wizard and select Statistics Agent Only on the Installer Path & Type dialog. Then, run the Remote Deploy Console to install the new statistic agent.
WORKAROUND 2:
Upgrade both the server where the LiteSpeedLocal and LiteSpeedCentral to the same version of LiteSpeed.
WORKAROUND 3: Rename the LiteSpeedLocal and LiteSpeedCentral databases and recreate them by running Instance Configuration.
WORKAROUND 4: In LiteSpeedLocal or LiteSpeedCentral databases, there is a table called LitespeedVersion. That table has a column called DatabaseVersion. Manually amend the value to the correct value for the new version, eg v5.005 as shown in the error message.
WORKAROUND 5: Reboot the SQL Server instance and then repeat the upgrade. There is likely some area of SQL memory still linking to the LiteSpeed DLLs and a reboot will release this memory. Also, ensure no LiteSpeed jobs are running during the upgrade.
