Upgrade driver for IBM SAN may cause cluster shut down when LiteSpeed performing backup to the SAN. SQLDiag shows that the OS is reporting the SAN as a fixed disk instead of remote, which would cause LiteSpeed to go into a very different file writing mode (unbuffered instead of buffered).
Driver Issue on IBM SAN
User can reproduce the problem with IO Meter (another 3rd party application), indicating LiteSpeed is not the root of the problem.
This is not a Quest LiteSpeed issue. Please contact IBM for troubleshooting.
