Verify/Restore Fails. "Not a valid LiteSpeed® for SQL Server® format file (Type is: 1)" -

Attempting to Verify/Restore Database results in this message:
Msg 60404, Level 16, State 1, Line 0Not a valid LiteSpeed® for SQL Server® format file (Type is: 1).Select a valid LiteSpeed® for SQL Server® file for this restore operation.All of our SQL servers are the same version and patch level. The backup and restore operation are both being run on the same server, so there can be no conflict between versions. -
Cause
Likely the storage device to which LiteSpeed is writing does not support overlapped writes. And currently, LiteSpeed performs overlapped writes by default.
We have logged defect LS-1197: "test the speed between overlapped write and normal write for network storages and disable it by default".The comparison test of the speed speed is done because if the performance drop is too large, the change will not be made, the overlapped writing will remain enabled. In that case, any user with this problem will either have to configure their storage device to support overlapped operations or use the IOflag parameter. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND 1
If possible, configure the storage device to support overlapped writes.
WORKAROUND 2Disable overlapped writing. To do this, use the IOflag parameter (disables overlapped writes) in all jobs that write to that storage. Script this and add the below parameter to the script:
@IOFlag = N'SEQUENTIAL_SCAN'
