After installing LiteSpeed, the server has been renamed which now causes connection problems within LiteSpeed and causes problems running the Instance Configuration.
Renaming the Server would cause LiteSpeed GUI tools to fail because information regarding Server names is stored in the Registry, which needs to be changed too.
1. Unregister the renamed server from the LiteSpeed Enterprise Console.
2. Run the following Procedure in SQL Query Analyzer:
sp_addserver 'new_servername', local
3. Run Instance Configuration Wizard
4. Register the server again through Enterprise Console
This process will update the registry information as necessary to reflect the changes of the server.
