When using LiteSpeed Enterprise Console, Backup Database Wizard, the option is available to select TSM (Tivoli Storage Management) backups and archive. The TSM backup and TSM archive options are transparent to the LiteSpeed and the backup process.
The difference between backup and archive is that Tivoli Storage Manager can use a backup file for a restore or can use it for a long term storage data (archive).
By selecting the TSM Backup or TSM Archive, LiteSpeed transparently uses different arguments and structures to backup, restore and query APIs and allow additional parameters for narrowing down the list of items returned in a query, i.e., an upper and lower insertion date/time, an upper and lower expiration date/time, and a description pattern. -
