General Tables

General information related to the repository is stored in:

pa_repository - Repository Schema information

Dimension Tables

Dimension tables allow observed metric (fact) data to be grouped according to significant, unique categories and allow additional information to be stored about them. The Performance Analysis GUI component leverages these dimensions to enable powerful, concise performance analyses.

Dimensions include:

pass_instance_dim - Accessed to retrieve all monitored instances in the repository

pass_wait_event_dim - Accessed to retrieve wait event categorization
•
pass_batch_dim, pass_batch_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>0000, pass_batch_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>0600, pass_batch_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>1200, pass_batch_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>1800 - These tables describe the batches that were part of the activity capture

pass_object_dim, pass_object_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>0000, pass_object_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>0600, pass_object_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>1200, pass_object_dim_1m_<YYYYMMDD>1800 - These tables describe the objects that were part of the activity capture

Performance Metric (Fact) Tables

Performance metrics, observed wait events, and blocking lock scenarios are stored in Fact tables.

Unique Combinations

Query these tables to retrieve data grouped by multiple dimension types.

Observed metric data is aggregated or averaged for the top n unique combinations of dimensions.

Queries access this data together with the descriptors in the desired metric dimensions to see which unique combinations of available dimensions were the most significant resource consumers during a particular timeframe.
